Azin Al Kajbaf is a Ph.D. student in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the University of Maryland. Azin was graduated with a master’s degree in structural engineering and is experienced in finite element modeling of structures and evaluating their performance in hazards such as earthquake and fire.  Since beginning her Ph.D. studies, she is performing research in the area of disaster resilience with a primary focus on estimation of coastal and precipitation hazards (under current and future climate conditions) using statistical analysis and data science. Her research goal is to leverage machine learning technics and uncertainty assessment to enhance the prediction and assessment of natural hazards in support of more robust risk analysis and decision making.
